Why Men Need to Compete

Why Men Need to Compete

The world is an exceptionally competitive environment.

Whether it is in business, sports, dating, etc. the competition is fierce, especially for men.

As men, we inherently know that other men are constantly after what we have - there is always someone out there trying to outperform us in some way.

Part of being a man is being able to harness our competitiveness so that we can stay in constant pursuit of something greater.

Striving for masculine excellence is part of the process of harnessing this competitive edge.

Striving to become stronger mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially all play a role in establishing the essential qualities needed to perform at a higher frequency in today's day in age.

Discipline, focus, consistency, and delaying gratification are all qualities essential for being able to compete at a higher level.

The driven mind knows that competition is part of the process of achieving something.

When it comes to competition, it is important to understand that competition with other men is part of it, but the most important competition is competition with the self.

Competing with ourselves is the only way we gain a true understanding of what competition against others is really like.

For example, if we are competing against someone that is significantly more skilled and knowledgeable than us, then the only way we raise ourselves to their standards is by raising our own.

This means that we need to push ourselves to new limits to learn what we don't know and develop new skills to better compete with those that are objectively better than we are.

In order to compete with others, we must first learn to compete with ourselves by pushing ourselves to new limits because it is the only way we will develop the confidence and discipline needed to reach the next level.

As men, we pretty much have to assume that other men out there are after what we have, which by extension, further drives us to become even better to reach new levels.

As men, we must learn to compete in order to protect what is ours and further strive for more out of life.

Competing is in our nature, it is part of what we are as men and has been this way since the beginning of human existence.

We must learn how to compete to protect what is ours: our women and families, our business, and anything that requires an extensive level of focus towards something greater.
